Achtergrond | Stephen was buried in the grounds of the Abbey he and Queen Matilda had founded at Faversham in 1148. She and their son Eustace were to be buried alongside him. The graves were destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the rumour being that their bones were thrown into Faversham Creek. However the Parish Church of St. Mary of Charity contains an un-named canopy tomb and it is thought they might rest there |
